**縣位于陜西東南部，地處秦嶺南麓，屬長江流域漢江水系，境內(nèi)旅游資源十分豐富，資源種類齊全，集生態(tài)旅游、體驗民俗、休閑娛樂、科研考古、問道探險等于一體，各具特色，極具吸引力，形成了以國家級森林公園天竺山為軸心的鶻嶺山系旅游資源分布區(qū)、以省級風(fēng)景名勝區(qū)月亮洞為龍頭的金錢河百里旅游資源分布區(qū)、以漫川古鎮(zhèn)為載體的人文旅游資源分布區(qū)的三大旅游資源區(qū)。天竺山景區(qū)位于**縣城東南部30公里處，總面積50.8平方公里，海拔2073.98米，景內(nèi)山勢陡峭，風(fēng)光秀麗，景色宜人，既有伴山之雄偉，又有武當(dāng)之靈秀，其山險、峰秀、地特、林茂的獨特生態(tài)資源，道佛交替、源遠流長的人文景觀弛名省內(nèi)外，

12008年被國家批準(zhǔn)為國家級森林公園。
