大家都知道，中華民族向來就有登高抒懷的傳統(tǒng)。所以在風景優(yōu)美、視野開闊的山地、湖邊以及建設的高大樓閣，就成為古代觀景呤詩的最佳場所。像湖南岳陽樓;江西滕王閣，還有就是我們的黃鶴樓，都因為宏偉的規(guī)模、復雜的建設結構和奇特的屋頂造型而著稱于世，并稱為" 江南三大名樓"黃鶴樓又以其歷史之悠久，樓姿之雄偉而居三樓之首。關于黃鶴樓的雄偉，曾經(jīng)有這么一個趣聞，說是湖北、四川兩地的客人相會在江上，攀談間，互相贊美自己的家鄉(xiāng)，四川客人說;"四川有座峨眉山，離天只有三尺三" ，湖北客人笑道：" 湖北有座黃鶴樓，半截插在云里頭"。驚得四川客人無言以對。當然，這個故事是有些言過其實，但黃鶴樓確以壯麗的景觀，動人的傳說及濃郁的文化氣息引著中外游人。

各位游客，我們已經(jīng)來到黃鶴樓, 現(xiàn)在我們看到的黃鶴樓其實是解放后重修的, 之前, 由于戰(zhàn)亂等原因, 黃鶴樓屢建屢費. 最后一座" 清樓"修建于同治7年, 毀于光緒20_年, 在這之后近百年沒有再重修過, 一直到1981年10月, 黃鶴樓重修工程才破土開工,以清代黃鶴樓為藍本,1985年6月落成.

重建的黃鶴樓因為修建武漢長江大橋所以離開了故址, 建在蛇山西端山坡上, 離江邊大約有1000米, 雖然相對于它的故址離長江遠了許多,但是因為樓的地面標軒廊高比江面高出30多米, 加上山高樓更高，氣勢雄偉, 視野開闊, 氣勢實際上更勝于舊樓. 黃鶴樓建筑群由主樓. 配亭. 軒廊. 牌坊等組成,分布在三層平臺上, 第一層平臺是黃鶴樓公園的西大門, 中央是勝象寶塔, 第二層平臺上的牌坊, 兩側是曲廊和南北配亭, 我們可以看到, 在兩亭間這個巨石上,是一組黃鶴歸來的銅雕. 一只佇立遠望; 一只低頭覓食; 第三層平臺的中央聳立著黃鶴樓. 飛檐有5層, 里面其實有9層, 高為49米, 是取之長長久久,或者說是天長地久的意思.
