i am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation.

five score years ago, a great american, in whose symbolic shadow we stand today, signed the emancipation proclamation. this momentous decree came as a great beacon light of hope to millions of negro slaves who had been seared in the flames of withering injustice. it came as a joyous daybreak to end the long night of their captivity.

but one hundred years later, the negro still is not free. one hundred years later, the life of the negro is still sadly crippled by the manacles of segregation and the chains of discrimination. one hundred years later, the negro lives on a lonely island of poverty in the midst of a vast ocean of material prosperity. one hundred years later, the negro is still languished in the corners of american society and finds himself an exile in his own land. and so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition.

in a sense we've come to our nation's capital to cash a check. when the architects of our republic wrote the magnificent words of the constitution and the declaration of independence, they were signing a promissory note to which every american was to fall heir. this note was a promise that all men, yes, black men as well as white men, would be guaranteed the "unalienable rights" of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." it is obvious today that america has defaulted on this promissory note, insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. instead of honoring this sacred obligation, america has given the negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked "insufficient funds."

but we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. we refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. and so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice.

we have also come to this hallowed spot to remind america of the fierce urgency of now. this is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. now is the time to make justice a reality for all of god's children.

from every mountainside, let freedom ring and when this happens, when we allow freedom ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of god's children, black men and white men, jews and gentiles, protestants and catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old negro spiritual:free at last! free at last!

Thank god almighty, we are free at last!

我們每個人都應(yīng)該有自已的理想，有了理想就有了前進(jìn)的方向。夜空中，閃閃發(fā)光的星星，是人們一個個美好的愿望。其中，最亮的那一顆是我的愿望：長大后成為一名軍人。

軍人，在我眼里，他是正義的象征。軍人，在我的心里是那么的高大、威嚴(yán)。軍人的那種勇往直前、決不退縮的精神更是令我敬佩。

我有很深的軍裝情結(jié)，在夢里我都想著穿上軍裝那英姿颯爽的樣子。我還希望自己能到部隊(duì)這個“大熔爐”里去“提煉”一下，因?yàn)椴筷?duì)是個鍛煉人的地方，我能在這樣一個環(huán)境里改掉“嬌小姐”的缺點(diǎn)。軍人意味著奉獻(xiàn)，意味著勇敢。哪里有困難，哪里就有軍人高大的身影。在2008年汶川大地震時，我看到地震現(xiàn)場最早的、最忙的、最奮不顧身的就是頂天立地的軍人，譜寫出一曲曲感人的生命贊歌。

不知道從什么時候開始，迷上了那深深淺淺的綠和穿著他們的軍人，可能是小學(xué)時候看戰(zhàn)爭片看多了吧。從此，那綠，那一隊(duì)隊(duì)，一列列的人就看似不經(jīng)意又頑固的印在了心里，牽扯出這一生的戀軍情結(jié)。

小時候很單純，以為只要長到足夠大，只要我愿意，就能夠成為那神圣隊(duì)伍中的一員。于是，等待長大的過程中一次次不厭其煩，樂此不彼的幻想穿上軍裝的威武與神氣，對部隊(duì)的向往和對軍人的崇敬也慢慢滋長成揮之不去的情感，頻繁出現(xiàn)在夢中。

可是當(dāng)我真的長大了，卻發(fā)現(xiàn)我的夢想注定只能出現(xiàn)在夢中?，F(xiàn)實(shí)的殘酷讓我低迷，卻沒能讓我停止做夢，反而讓我更加慶幸，自己的崇拜是值得的，如果隨隨便便一個人都能成為軍人，那軍隊(duì)也許對我就沒有什么吸引力了。

和同學(xué)聊天，開玩笑說，這輩子當(dāng)不了軍人，當(dāng)個軍嫂也不錯。朋友笑我無可救藥，我卻覺得她們不是我，也無法了解我的癡迷，無法理解我玩笑背后的遺憾和傷感。

直至現(xiàn)在，我的戀軍情結(jié)依然深厚。偶然聯(lián)系上中學(xué)的同學(xué)，得知其在軍校，羨慕的不得了。很后悔當(dāng)時沒有讀到能報志愿的時候，不能曲線救國，實(shí)現(xiàn)小時候的愿望。聽軍校的同學(xué)抱怨訓(xùn)練很苦很累，我卻覺得他們是身在福中不知福，如果換了我，可能會喊累，但應(yīng)該不會抱怨，畢竟做自己喜歡的事是很幸福的。

有時候想想，人的感情真的很奇怪。就像在我喜歡上軍人，喜歡上當(dāng)兵以前，從沒有接觸過真正的軍人，甚至在閉塞的家鄉(xiāng)，連警察都沒有。只憑著電視上閃過的畫面，我就確定了這輩子最崇拜的人，這似乎有些不可思議卻又真實(shí)的發(fā)生了，而且這種崇拜扎根，發(fā)芽，雖然沒結(jié)出果實(shí)，卻開出了美麗的夢想的花朵。

曾有朋友問我到底最喜歡軍人哪一方面，我搖頭，然后在她們迷惑的眼神的注視下，心安理得說不知道。其實(shí)我是真的不知道，可能是單純的因?yàn)橄矚g軍裝，才喜歡上軍人;可能是喜歡軍人的陽剛氣質(zhì);又或者喜歡軍人的剛毅，堅(jiān)強(qiáng);喜歡他們的擔(dān)當(dāng)，喜歡他們的付出。雖然我不確定我到底最喜歡哪點(diǎn)，但我知道我喜歡他們的一切。
