接受了正統(tǒng)的十二年中國基礎(chǔ)教育，十二年寒窗乏善可陳。初中兩次參加中學(xué)生物奧林匹克競賽，分別取得省區(qū)一等獎和特等獎。高中三年，平心而論只拼了半年，用減肥八千克換了一張總分623的高考成績單。懷著對生物學(xué)的一腔熱情，力排眾議報考了山東大學(xué)生命科學(xué)學(xué)院，并被錄取。

說到進化，2003年的春天，非典疑云籠罩京城之際，我和幾個朋友受邀到中央電視臺科教頻道與南京大學(xué)、天津大學(xué)的朋友一起參加關(guān)于恐龍滅絕的話題的討論。我們提出的復(fù)原恐龍生殖生態(tài)模型的觀點得到了著名古生物學(xué)家董枝明和甄朔南的一致肯定。從北京趕回濟南后五天，非典隔離開始。同樣因為非典，中央臺的節(jié)目錄制陷入停頓，我們的節(jié)目“有幸”被重播四次之多，希望我們的觀點能夠得到更多人的認可。

不過，比之討論恐龍滅絕，我更喜歡探討生命的誕生。在這里，進化不僅僅是一個生物學(xué)課題，更是一個哲學(xué)命題。我對進化生物學(xué)及進化基因組學(xué)的認識將在下面的一篇小文中展開，在此就不加贅述了。
