OnbehalfofSouthwesternUniversityofFinanceandEconomics,itisourpleasuretowelcomeeconomistsfromallovertheworldto“2012conferenceonTrendsandCyclesinGlobalDynamicsandPerspectivesofWorldDevelopment”jointlyorganizedbySchoolofEconomicsofSouthwesternUniversityofFinanceandEconomics(China),FacultyofGlobalStudiesofLomonosovMoscowStateUniversity(Russia),InstituteofEconomicsRussianAcademyofSciences(Russia),TheChineseEconomistSociety(CES)andChinaSocietyofWorldEconomics(CSWE).

Thisyear’sconferencemarksthe120thanniversaryofeconomistNikolaiKondratieff'sbirth,aswellasthe90thanniversaryofthepublicationofhisMirovoyekhozyaistvoiegoconyunkturyvovremyaiposlevoiny[TheWorldEconomyanditsConjuncturesduringandaftertheWar](Vologda,1922),wherehefirstspelledouttheideaoflongcycles,whichisknownasKondratieffcyclesorKondratieffwaves(orK-wavesforshort)later.
